The Story of The French Circus School — From Normandy to Melbourne, Sharing Circus, Movement & French Culture with Kids
Founded in 2020 by Anthony, a passionate circus and sports teacher from the north of France, the school was created to share his love of circus arts and inspire children in Melbourne to learn French. With experience running circus and sports programs since 2008, Anthony and his team bring a wealth of knowledge, creativity, and energy to every session.
Each class combines a variety of circus activities designed to keep children active, curious, and confident. From balancing and juggling to games and group challenges, every child finds something they enjoy. Classes also incorporate elements of the French language in a playful and natural way, offering a cultural twist that sets the program apart.
The school has become a trusted partner to numerous events, schools and kindergartens across Melbourne and maintains ties with the local French Community.
Our Founder, Anthony Panel
Anthony hails from Normandy, a picturesque region in northern France known for Mont Saint Michel, the masterpieces of Impressionist Claude Monet, and its charming medieval towns. A qualified sports teacher with a background in French literature, Anthony moved to Australia in 2019, bringing with him a deep passion for sport, the French language, and 18 years of experience inspiring and teaching children.
At the French Circus School, Anthony brings his expertise and enthusiasm to every session. His programs are designed to support children’s physical health, coordination, and overall wellbeing, while also nurturing creativity, confidence, and social connection. His mission is to create a space where children can thrive—through movement, play, dynamic experiences, and a little French along the way.
In his spare time, Anthony leads an active lifestyle with his eight year old son—climbing trees, skateboarding, playing tennis, and bouncing on trampolines. He also enjoys reading some of his favourite French authors, including Boris Vian and Victor Hugo.
